Heed all warnings. Follow all instructions. Do not use this apparatus near water. Clean only with a dry cloth. Do not block any ventilation openings. Install in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions. Do not install near any heat sources such as radiators, heat registers, stoves or other apparatus (including amplifiers) that produce heat. 2. Connect the DVD player and your TV to an electrical power outlet. Thank you for purchasing a Packard Bell DVX 461 USB DVD player. The DVX 461 USB DVD player is a great addition to your home theatre system and includes the following features: · Fully compatible with various disc formats: DVD, DivX, CD, CDG, XVID, Picture CD, OGG Vorbis, WMA and MP3. · USB port to connect external USB storage devices. · DTS out, Dolby 5.1 channel digital surround sound output.
QUICKSTART SETUP
Connect to a Television (Basic configuration)
1. Connect a SCART cable from the SCART OUT socket on the back of the DVD player to the SCART IN socket on the back of your TV. 3. Press the ON/OFF button on the front panel of the DVD player to switch it on. 4. Switch on your TV set and select the appropriate video-in channel. The DVD player main menu will become visible. 5. Press the Open/Close button on the remote control to open the disc tray. 6. Insert a disc and press the Open/Close button player will automatically recognise the disc type. again. The
If there is a DVD disc, the player will show the menu or the titles. If there is an audio CD, the player will play the first track.
7. Press the Play button to play a disc. 8. Press the Pause button to pause. 9. Press the Fast Forward button to activate fast forward, press the Fast Reverse button to activate fast reverse. 10. Press the Next button to skip to the next title/chapter, press the Previous button to skip to the previous title/chapter.

Depending on the connectors that are available on your TV set, you may need additional cable(s). Please check your TV's documentation for more information. You may need to use the Video Out and DIsplay Mode buttons to set the video output mode correctly.

DVD player and Y Cb/Pb Cr/Pr or SCART
To connect to a TV using HDTV mode (with compatible TV only):
1. Connect the DVD player to your TV set using the Y Cb/Pb Cr/Pr and YUV connectors. 2. Set the TV to HDTV mode (see your TV's user documentation for how to do this). 3. Press the remote control Video Out button repeatedly to select 'CVBS+YUV'. 4. Press the 'Display Mode' button twice to switch to HDTV 720P mode.

GENERAL FUNCTIONS
Screen display (OSD) - When the unit plays a disc, press the OSD button to browse through several options. For DVD discs - Press the OSD button repeatedly to show the remaining time, elapsed time and chapter time. Press once again to switch off the OSD display. For DivX, XVID and MP3/WMA discs - Press the OSD button repeatedly to show the elapsed time of a chapter and the remaining chapter time. Press once again to switch off the OSD display. Language - Press the Language button to select any of the languages supported on the disc. Angle - If the disc you are playing supports this function, use this button to select your preferred viewing angle. Subtitles - Press the Subtitle button repeatedly to browse through the available subtitle options. Program - Use the Program button to program the playing sequence using the numeric buttons. When finished, press the Stop button to cancel or Play to start playback. To cancel a program, press the PBC button. Menu DVD - Press the Menu DVD button to view the available titles on the disc. Select with the Up and Down buttons and press Play to start display. Sub-menu - With PBC on (see below), press the Sub-menu button to display the available options (only valid for discs with multi-menu). When the unit is in PBC OFF or stop state, press this button to activate the nine pictures browse function. Select the number you wish to play.
