All Rights Reserved. 9100010008933 BAOF25M/W/30M/W/BI06MLM1 BAOF25M/W/30M/W/BI06MLM1.qxd 11/2/06 3:43 PM Page 4 BAOF25M/BAOF25W BAOF30M/BAOF30W/BAOF30B Fig.1 ENGLISH PLEASE READ AND SAVE THESE IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should always be taken including the following: · Use the fan only for purposes described in the instruction manual. · To protect against electrical shock, do not immerse the fan, plug or mains cable in water or spray with liquids. · Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is used by or near children. · Unplug from the electrical outlet when not in use, when moving the fan from one location to another, before putting on or taking off parts and before cleaning. · Avoid contact with any moving parts. · Do not operate in the presence of explosive and/or flammable fumes. · Do not place the fan or any parts near an open flame, cooking or other heating appliance. · Do not operate any appliance with a damaged mains cable, plug, after the appliance malfunctions, or has been dropped/ damaged in any manner. · The use of attachments not recommended or sold by the appliance manufacturer may cause hazards. · Do not use outdoors. · Do not let the mains cable hang over the edge of a table or counter, or come into contact with hot surfaces. · To disconnect from the electrical supply, grip the plug and pull from the wall outlet. DO NOT pull on the mains cable. · Always use on a dry, level surface. · Do not operate without the fan grills properly in place. · This product is intended for household use ONLY and not for commercial or industrial applications. · If the supply cord or plug is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer or its service agent or a similarly qualified person in order to avoid hazard. · The appliance contains no user serviceable parts and should the product suffer damage or breakdown it must be returned to the manufacturer or its service agent. · Should the appliance stop working, first check the fuse in the plug (UK only) or fuse/circuit breaker at the distribution board is operating, before contacting the manufacturer or service agent. NOTE: Use caution when adjusting the tilt angle of the fan head to ensure that your fingers do not get caught. 2 MISSING A PART FOR YOUR FAN? Please call 0800 052 3615 for assistance. ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS See Fig. 1 A. upper body B. Base C.Screw/ Spring Washer / Flat Washer (4) D.Mounting Nut E. Motor Housing F. Rear Grill G.Motor Shaft H.Notches I. Prong J. Fan Blade K. Flat L. Locking Screw M.Grill Ring N.Front Grill O.Fixing Screw P. Speed Control Q.Oscillation Control 1. Fit the upper body (A) to the base (B). Align the 4 screw holes in the base to the four holes in the upper body. Fix securely with the 4 sets of screw, spring washer and flat washer (C). 2. Unscrew the rear grill mounting nut (D) from the motor housing (E). Position the rear grill (F) over the motor shaft (G), making certain 2 notches (H) at the sides of the rear grill fit over the corresponding prongs (I) on the motor housing. Please make sure the rear grill fits securely against the motor housing. 3. Secure the rear grill in its place using the rear grill mounting nut. Turn this nut clockwise and tighten firmly. 4. Remove the protective sleeve from the motor shaft. 5. Slide the fan blade (J), with the fixing screw facing towards the rear grill, firmly onto the motor shaft, aligning the screw with the flat (K) on the motor shaft. 6. Position the locking screw (L) over the flat on the motor shaft. Tighten the screw into the side hole of the fan blade, against the motor 7. Loosely fit the grill ring (M) to the front grill (N). Position the fixing screw (O) at the bottom of the grill with reference to the Bionaire® logo. The grill ring has two grooves. Locate the front grill to one of these grooves leaving the other groove free to attach to the rear grill. Only tighten the fixing screw enough to hold the grill ring in place. 8. Centre the front grill by aligning the Bionaire® logo on the logo plate so that it is horizontal and parallel with the floor. Then, holding the front grill against the rear grill, push the black grill ring into place at the top and bottom of the fan. (Push directly on the black grill ring, not on the grills themselves). Finish securing the grill ring in the same manner until both grills are joined underneath the black ring. 9. Tighten the screw. OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS (See Fig. 1) 1. Set the fan base on a dry level surface. 2. Make sure the Speed Control is in the OFF (0) position. Speed Control (P) is located on the top of the fan motor housing. 3. Plug the cord into a suitable outlet. 4. The SPEED is adjusted by turning the Speed Control to the desired setting: 0 - Off I - Low II - Med III - High ADJUSTMENT Tilt adjustment To change the tilting angle of the fan head, simply move the fan head to the desired angle. Oscillation adjustment The OSCILLATION control (Q) is located on the top of the fan motor housing. To start oscillation, push the control knob down. To stop oscillation, pull the control knob up. CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE · Always unplug the fan before cleaning or disassembly. · Do not allow water to drip on or into the fan motor housing. FAN STORAGE It is important to keep the fan in a safe, dry location. · We recommend using the original (or appropriately sized) box. FITTING A REPLACEMENT PLUG FOR U.K. AND IRELAND ONLY If the plug is not suitable for the socket outlets in your home, it can be removed and replaced by a plug of the correct type. Please refer to "Installation of a plug" below. Installation of a plug Applicable to U.K. and Ireland. WARNING - THIS APPLIANCE MUST BE EARTHED. The wires in the mains lead are coloured as such: GREEN AND YELLOW - EARTH BROWN - LIVE BLUE - NEUTRAL Please note that the colour of these mains wires may not correspond with the colour markings that identify the terminals in your plug. Please proceed as follows: The wire which is coloured GREEN AND YELLOW must be connected to the terminal which is marked with the letter 'E' or by the earth symbol or coloured GREEN or GREEN AND YELLOW. The BROWN coloured wire must be connected to the terminal, which is marked with the letter "L" or is coloured RED. The BLUE coloured wire must be connected to the terminal, which is marked with the letter "N" or is coloured BLACK. M L D G P Q E NOTE: If the terminals in the plug are not marked or if you are unsure or in doubt about the installation of the plug please contact a qualified electrician. If a 13A 3-pin plug is fitted, it must be an ASTA approved plug, conforming to BS1363 standard. Replacement 3A fuses must be BSI or ASTA BS1362 approved. DIRECTIVES DE MONTAGE NOTA: avant de lire ce mode d'emploi, veuillez déplier la dernière page où vous trouverez les illustrations correspondantes. 1. Fixez la partie supérieure (A) à la base (B). Alignez les 4 trous de vis dans la base avec les quatre trous dans la partie supérieure. Fixez solidement avec les 4 vis, les rondelles élastiques et les rondelles plates. 2. Dévissez l'écrou (D) de montage de la grille arrière hors du compartiment. Positionnez la grille arrière par-dessus l'arbre moteur (G) en vous assurant que les entailles sur les côtés de la grille arrière se placent par-dessus la dent sur le compartiment moteur. Assurez-vous que la grille arrière est fixée solidement contre le compartiment moteur. 3. Fixez la grille arrière à sa place en utilisant l'écrou de montage de la grille arrière. Serrez cet écrou fermement dans le sens des aiguilles d'une montre. 4. Retirez la capsule de protection du bloc moteur. 5. Faites glisser fermement la pale du ventilateur (J) sur le bloc moteur, avec la vis de fixation faisant face à la grille arrière, en alignant cette vis avec la facette sur le bloc moteur. 6. Positionnez la vis de serrage au-dessus de la facette sur le bloc moteur. Serrez cette vis dans le trou sur le côté de la pale du ventilateur, contre le bloc moteur, jusqu'à ce que la pale et la vis soient toutes deux bien fixées. 7. Fixez lâchement la bague de la grille (M) à la grille avant (N). La bague de la grille possède deux sillons. Placez la grille avant sur de l'un de ces sillons en laissant l'autre sillon libre pour y attacher la grille arrière. Serrez la vis de fixation suffisamment pour maintenir simplement la bague de la grille en place. 8. Centrez la grille avant en alignant le logo Bionaire® sur la plaque logo de manière à ce qu'il soit en position horizontale et parallèle au sol. Ensuite, en maintenant la grille avant contre la grille arrière, poussez la bague noire de la grille en place en haut et en bas du ventilateur. (Poussez directement sur la bague noire de la grille et non sur les grilles elles-mêmes). Finissez de fixer la bague de la grille de la même manière jusqu' à ce que les deux grilles soient réunies au-dessous de la bague noire. 9. Serrez la vis. 4 FRANÇAIS PRIERE DE LIRE CES DIRECTIVES ET DE LES CONSERVER DIRECTIVES IMPORTANTES Lors de l'utilisation d'appareils électriques, il faut toujours respecter les consignes suivantes: · N'utiliser le ventilateur qu'aux fins décrites dans le manuel d'instruction. · Afin d'éviter tout risque d'électrocution, il ne faut immerger ni le ventilateur, ni la prise, ni le cordon dans l'eau ni les vaporiser avec des liquides. · En présence d'enfants, il faut assurer une surveillance étroite. · Débrancher de la prise murale, lorsque l'appareil n'est pas utilisé en cas de déplacement, avant le montage ou démontage des pièces, ou avant de le nettoyer. · Eviter tout contact avec les parties mobiles. · Ne pas faire marcher en présence de produits explosifs ou de vap ...
